Vampire Mating Habits

Our next victims–err contributors to Adopt a Vampire Novel month are Dakota Cassidy and Michele Bardsley. I think you’ll enjoy their characters’ dueling banjos approach to the topic of vampire mating habits. Enjoy!

Dissertation on the Mating Habits of Vampires
By Eva O’Halloran

I am an arriviste. I think most people are … though when I say people, I’m referring to my own societal group of undead beings, which are further defined by their habits of nocturnal noshing on living humans. In other words, not everyone undead is a vampire. I’m also in a rare sub-group of the species: a parent with mortal offspring. Most vampires do not have children.

I’m autodidactic—nearly all my accumulated knowledge, including that of sexual intimacy, is self-taught. Oh, wait. I didn’t mean that my carnal experience relied only on self-experimentation … gah! Never mind. Er … shall we continue with this erudition?

I have firsthand experience in mating rituals within the paranormal group known as vampires. First, I am one. Second, I married one. My husband’s name is Lorcan and he can do this thing with his … that is to say, he’s splendiferous.

It is interesting to note that all vampires were once human, which means that several social mores from one group to the next remain intact. Exagomy is rarely practiced. In fact, most times a vampire will turn a human, thus making the relationship one of endagomy.

To sum up, having sex with a vampire is really fun. Oops. I mean, enjoying droit de seigneur with a nosferatu is frabjous.

The Interpretation of the Craptacularness Above
By Nina Blackman

Paragraph one–for all you normal people who don’t read the dictionary while you’re, you know—using the John, means this snooty chick is a vampire. She’s a night dweller, has no working organs, is Interview With A Vampire-ish. If you need more information about vampires, spare your eyeballs with the crap she spews up above and hit Wikipedia. That’s how I learned how to be one. For real…

And I think nobody picked her to be on the Vampire cheerleading squad, cuz she seems bitter the way she flings all those big words around. Just sayin’.

Paragraph two–she masturbates. Nuff said.

Paragraph three—Christ—chick’s frontin’, if you ask me. All talkin’ about her man’s dangly bits in public—I call TMI.

Paragraph four–Is that like endoscopie? Dude, I don’t play like that. Or is that more like the shit you do when you fold paper? If you’re playin’ with paper that would explain a lot about you.

Paragraph five—Snooty broad likes to wonk.

Note from Eva: My pedagogical diatribe on the mating rituals of vampires is meant for people who do not deign to use words such as “craptacularness” and “wonk.” I seek to illuminate and elevate vampirical knowledge in order to create an intellectual bond with those who do not live in our world. And also, Nina is a poopy-head.

Note from Nina: Lady, I don’t wanna hear about your friggin’ trip to the nail shop. Pedagogical this, you foot freak. And is poopy-head the best you have? Nobody told me I was playing in the minor leagues when I said I’d do this blog. I see your poopy-head and raise you a fucktard. And if you stick your prissy tongue out at me, I’ll snatch it outta your head.

Note from Eva: I had to use a word you’d understand. I’m delighted you did. Your limited intellect and your inability to use a dictionary are only trumped by your degradation of the English language. I wouldn’t expend the energy it took the nine muscles of my tongue to waggle it at you. I would like to apologize for calling you a poopy-head. It’s your mouth that’s full of shit.

Note from Nina: Ahem—here’s your problem in a nutshell, you freaky-deaky faux intellectual. You can fling all the fancy words you want, refuse to waggle your tongue (lady, if you can waggle it instead of just stick it out like the rest of us mere undead—no wonder you’re into masturbation), and call me stupid every which way till Sunday–
I still call you didn’t get picked for the cheerleading squad and you’re grudgin’ after all this time. Hater ☺

Note from Eva: Only a former cheerleader would think not getting picked for the squad was a bad thing. Blech! And can I help it that my tongue is more talented than yours? I’ll have you know that—

Note from Lorcan: My adorable wife Eva was unable to finish her post due to … uh, spousal intervention. We’re thrilled she was invited to Jaye Wells blog to discuss vampires with Miss Nina Blackman. Ms. Blackman, I do agree with your assessment that talking about my dangly bits in a public forum is definitely TMI. May I just say that you are the epitome of undead pom-pom girls everywhere? For more information about Broken Heart’s paranormal community, please visit our website.

Note From Nina: Me? A cheerleader—um, no. I ate wussies like cheerleaders and you wannabe cheerleaders for lunch. Then I used your stupid dictionaries to beat yer asses until you were bloody and—“

Note From Greg Statleon with hand firmly over Nina’s mouth: I see my new fledgling has been spreading her warmth and overall good ju-ju on Jaye’s blog. Jaye, what Nina meant to say is, thanks for having her. Lorcan? Let me be the first to congratulate you on the waggle of your woman’s tongue. Male vampires all over the nation are crying in their blood because you got to Eva first. And if anyone still wants to venture another, er, visit with Nina after her mouth got the best of her, c’mon over to the world of the “accidentally” bitten at Dakota’s web site.

It’s Jaye again. Dakota and Michele have decided that two lucky commenters will receive prizes this go round. Dakota is giving away an ARC of ACCIDENTALLY DEAD, and Michele will give away a copy of DON’T TALK BACK TO YOUR VAMPIRE. To enter, just tell us in comments which vampire character from a movie or book you’d like you adopt. The deadline to enter is this Sunday at midnight.

Winners will be announced here on Monday morning. Also, be sure to check out Dakota’s and Michele’s blogs (links in post).

This is a toughy. There are so many good ones, its hard to pick just one. LOL 🙂 But I guess I pick Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Only because the Anita Blake series was the first vampire series that I have read. since then I have read other books and fell in love with other vampires. 🙂

For Eva: Your trenchancy is obvious and were the exchange more epigrammatic, I shouldn’t have experienced such a jollity in the erudition.

For Nina: Right the fuck on, girl! Damn, I almost fell asleep trying to slog through Eva’s ‘prolix’ use of words with more than three syllables.

    ROFL, needed this laugh, ladies!

  7. i have to pick ONE?????

ummmm Wrath from JR Ward’s series…he is a perfect one of the species.. although if i could pick more there is Angel, Spike,

Please enter me in the Adopt A Vampire contest.

I can’t possibly pick just one to adopt…but I’d love to personally research all that I know of…and off the top of my head they would come from J.R. Ward, Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, LKH or perhaps Kate Douglas.

No slight intended on present company as you’re new to me authors. I do, however, have The Accidental Werewolf on my TBR shelf to be read very soon:)

Hmm… Choosing just ONE is truly the hardest part. Jean-Claude from LKH? Oh, yeah. Gerard Butler from Dracula 2000? Baby.

But, I gotta go retro. Yes, I’m a child of the 80’s and I watched The Lost Boys at least 12 times in the theater. I have to adopt David AKA Keifer Sutherland. He was my first, after all.

  33. Christina on March 7, 2008 at 4:04 am said:

Like so many others I am put in a bind to pick only one! I am also going on the assumption that we are not talking adoption in the familial sense as I am SOOOO not into incest, lmao. OK, to make a long story short (I know, too late!) I have to go as always with my long time love David Boreanaz, (Angel). As much as I love Lorcan, Patrick and the rest of the BH gang and as great as Nina sounds, and even though there are tons of super hot vamps out there, I have to stay loyal. I mean LOOOOOK at him!!!

  34. gilshallos on March 7, 2008 at 4:58 am said:

Oh I bloody near choked on my water! You need to have “don’t not drink while reading this” warnings… That was just too funny, is all I can say! LOL! Hmmm, as for a vampire I would like to adopt? Well, Eva is a woman after my own heart, I have been accused of speaking like a dictionary on far too many occasions (I never could spell though), it was probably because I would actually read the dictionary for fun. Anyway, back to the matter at hand, I think for contrast I would say I would like to adopt Nina Blackman. Using the theory of magnets – like repels like and opposites attact. 🙂

There are so many hunky vamps out there to pick from. Spike and Angel are just too cute. Spike with his blond hair and devil may care attitidue, Angel with the brooding dark side. Then of course from the book world there are Christine Freehan’s Carpathians. All the ones that I have read sound just yummy. Sinclair has to be a total hunk, and he keeps Besty pleased!

Samantha — Everyone is fucking Matt Damon. I think we need a new man. LOL!

Everyone else, THANK YOU for stopping by and playing with us. I hope I don’t get thrown out of the vampire lovers’ club for not seeing Dracula 2000. But I have read Rosemary Laurey’s vampire series, and I loved Christopher Marlowe, too.

For my fiest choice, I will say Spike, from Buffy because well, who doesn’t love a badboy, right? plus YUM!! For my second choice: I pick Quinn from Michelle Rowen’s Immortality Bites series because even though I do not know what he looks like, Michelle has stated on her website that she now pictures him as Jensen Ackles from Supernatural, so yeah, YUM! again. Plus, he really seems like a sweet, upstaanding guy. (Quinn, not Jensen) although I am in no way saying that Jensen isn’t an upstanding guy. My apologies to Jensen) Well, I was going to say The Count, from Sesame Street, but I thought people might find that kinda creepy. Plus all that counting all the time would drive me absolutely batty! (No pun intended) 🙂

Had I but known there were so many to choose from!

I was all set to say Jacque (or however you spell his name)from Christene Feehan’s books but then was reminded we can have TV and Movie vamps too.

So TV would HAVE to be Mick St. James (would love to have him protecting me *snicker*) And movie would have to pick the character from the last Blade movie that was played by Triple H, the wrestler. I mean who doesn’t love a guy who would turn his pomeranian into a vamp?

No, wait.Actually I’d have to choose the pomeranian. That dog was hysterical!

Second pick – any of Mageverse Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table – YUM!
And honorable mention (’cause he’s more of a god than a vamp…)
    Acheron – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to adopt a vampire. I know that they are going to good homes, ravished… uh I mean cherished by their new families.

Guys its mean of you to make us only pick one 🙁 but when it comes down to it i would have to go with Henry Fitzroy from blood ties, and of course the books. mmm hes soo hot, and young which you dont find very often. But hey since im only 20 its works for me.

Ladys keep up the good work. Much love from canada

Picking just one is soooo hard!!!! I think I’ll choose Christina Caresse Chavelle, she was adorable trying to be all cool and serious. But then I have to agree and selena from underworld was amazing!!!

My pick would be Stuart Townsend from the movie Queen of the Damned! (HE’S SO HOT)

I think Michael from the Darkyn series would be my first choice. French accent, handsome, and not really dead–just a mutation!

I have to agree with several people who would adopt Spike from Angel. He made the entire Season 5 of Angel for me.

OMG I loved the blog dangly bits and all. 🙂 LOL

As for who I would adopt it would have to be either Ash from the Dark Hunters or Z from Black Dagger Brotherhood. Either would work for me. 🙂

I am still rolling on the floor from the blog. I have to agree with Nina.

If I really had to choose just one – and that’s really mean by the way, why can’t I have five? Id’ go with Eric. Vayl would most than likely kill me. Rhage would probably too. And Quinn’s um, otherwise busy.

    Honestly I haven’t seen a vampire
I’d turn down. But if I’m picking one I’ll take Nick Knight from the TV series “Forever Knight” played by Geraint Wyn Davies.

I have to be tottaly different from everyone else I guess. I’d like to adopt Stephen Westlake from Brenda Bryce’s The Society 1 (series with Looseid). He’s totally yummy, protective, sexy, did I say sexy?

Love Michelle’s and Dakota’s vampires too of course *g*

Since it’s adoption and not, erm, ravishment…I think I would have to say either Rhage from JR Ward’s books because there’s just something so….lost little boy about him. I would also have to go with Eva from Broken Heart. Who wouldn’t love to have a librarian in the family? First dibs on the good books!

Jim Carry in that one from the 80″s I can’t remember the name of it right now.. He looked so inoccent and needed a “Mom” to adopt him!!! LOL

  86. Well, if we’re talking adopting, I’d have to take poor little Kirsten Dunst.

Now if we’re talking to keep in the cellar as my forever sex toy that doesn’t need batteries, I’m sorry Wendy, but you’d have to take Eric. Bones is ALL mine. I’ve licked him so according to dog rules he’s mine *g*

That Brit accent? Yummm. Bones can bite me anytime and I’m SO not talking about my neck 😉

Awesome blog! Thanks for the heads up, DC and Ter!

There are so many vamp heroes that I would be hard put to pick just one, but a new one has come on the scene, Mick St John from Moonlight the tv show. He’s single, sexy and emotionally tortured, so he’s a good choice for adoption.

I would adopt either Edward(Twilight) or Eric Sinclair(Betsy).
