Happy Monday, people. I woke up to a piece of cool news this morning, but first, some housekeeping.
For those of you who requested book plates, I got them all done this weekend. That means you should be getting them this week. Yay! If you haven’t requested one yet, I have another option for you.
In late March, I’m heading to the Pacific Northwest for a mini-tour. While I’m there, I’ll be signing at Powell’s Beaverton on March 31 with the deliciously filthy Mark Henry. I just found out that Powell’s is offering signed preorders of The Mage in Black. That’s right. If you preorder the book from Powell’s they’ll make sure I sign your copy while I’m in town. Better yet, they’ll ship it directly to you.
For those who don’t know, preorders are really important for book sales. They help establish a demand for the book and that encourages book sellers to order more copies. And Powell’s makes it just as easy to preorder as it would be from the megalithic online retailer who shall not be named. Just sayin’.
On to the good news, I’ve been nominated for a PEARL award for Best Urban Fantasy of 2009 by the members of ParaNormalRomance‘s online community. Granted, it’s a long shot. I’m up against pretty much the biggest names in urban fantasy, but that in itself is immensely gratifying for this debut author. Voting goes until March 7 and only members of the community can vote. Now might be a good time to join if you haven’t checked out this group. They’re a lively bunch and do a lot to promote paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Also, congrats to all the other nominees!
Now even self-promotion. It’s now time for me to pimp others! This week, several friends and fellow-Leaguer of Reluctant Adult members have releases. Congrats to the following, whose books launch tomorrow:
Mark Henry — Battle of the Network Zombies (book #3 in his hilarious Amanda Feral series)
Diana Rowland–Blood of the Demon (book #2 in her awesome Kara Gillian series)
Stacia Kane– Demon Possessed (book #3 in her fantastic Megan Chase series)
Anton Strout–Dead Matter (book #3 in his popular Simon Canderous series)
Get thee to a bookery! Also, be sure to share your good news in comments!

[...] And check out the cover for the next release at Jaye Well’s blog. [...]
You wouldn’t by some chance be swinging up by the Seattle area would you *hopes*?
I’m anxiously awaiting Diana Rowland and Stacia Kane books. They’re being delivered on Wednesday. Woot.
I am coming to Seattle! I have a signing at University Book store on April 5 with Mark Henry. Jeanne Stein and Cory Doctorow. I’ll also be at Norwescon April 1-3.
Yay! Congrats, Jaye! Very well deserved!
Congrats on the PEARL nomination, Jaye!
I look forward to my book plate.
